Katy Perry Confirms Romance With Justin Trudeau After Months of Rumors
It’s official: Katy Perry and Justin Trudeau are a couple.
After months of speculation, the pop icon, 41, and the former Canadian prime minister, 53, made their relationship public on Saturday (Oct. 25) during a night out in Paris.
According to TMZ, the pair celebrated Perry’s 41st birthday with a date at Crazy Horse Paris, where they were photographed leaving the theater hand in hand, smiling and looking happy together.
The confirmation comes just two weeks after Perry playfully addressed the romance rumors at her London concert on Oct. 13. Spotting a fan’s sign that read, “Katy Perry, will you marry me?” the singer laughed and said, “You heard I was single? That’s interesting. You really should’ve asked me about 48 hours ago.” She then teased, “He’s just a little too late,” hinting that she was already taken.
Rumors of their relationship began swirling earlier this year after photos surfaced of the pair kissing on a yacht, followed by dinner sightings in Canada. Trudeau had also been seen at Perry’s Montreal show in July, where he sang along to her hit “Firework” during her Lifetimes Tour.
Perry’s new relationship comes just months after her split from longtime partner Orlando Bloom. The two, who dated on and off for nearly nine years, share a daughter, Daisy Dove.
“At this time, Orlando and Katy have been transitioning their relationship over the past several months to focus on co-parenting,” their reps told Billboard in July. “They remain devoted to raising their daughter with love, stability, and mutual respect.”
Trudeau, meanwhile, announced his separation from his wife Sophie Grégoire Trudeau in August 2023 after 18 years of marriage. The former couple shares three children.
