Donald Trump’s admiration for hip-hop icon Nicki Minaj continues to make headlines, with the former President recently giving the Queens native a massive shoutout. While speaking at the Rose Garden Club Lunch on Monday afternoon (July 6), Trump took the opportunity to publicly praise Minaj, who was in attendance for the event.

Taking the podium, Trump made sure the audience knew exactly how highly he thinks of the multi-platinum rapper. “We also have a woman that is so respected and so hot and so great and a great friend of — I don’t say conservative — I say common sense,” Trump proclaimed to the crowd.

He didn't stop there, continuing to rave about her character and abilities. “She’s a fantastic person and she’s a woman that’s respected by everybody. And she’s got real talent, Nicki Minaj," Trump added, before directing his attention to her. "Nicki, stand up, please. Such a great person and respected by everybody.”

Wearing a striking pink dress, Minaj stood to a warm round of applause from the luncheon’s attendees as she basked in the glowing endorsement. She later took to social media, sharing a photo with Donald Trump taken in the Oval Office. Embracing the moment, she captioned the picture, “Whoa!!!! #WhiteHouseBarbie with her favorite President of all time.”

The highly public mutual appreciation between Minaj and Trump has steadily blossomed over the past year. Ever since the Young Money superstar made what many describe as a MAGA pivot, she has frequently used her massive social media platforms to express her support for Trump and his administration.

Their growing political alliance was heavily spotlighted back in January when Minaj and Trump met face-to-face. During a speech at a Trump Accounts Summit, the rapper officially declared her unwavering loyalty, boldly labeling herself as the “president’s No. 1 fan.”

“I am probably the president’s No. 1 fan,” Minaj stated at the summit. “And that’s not going to change. What people have to say, it does not affect me at all. It actually motivates me to support him more. And it’s going to motivate all of us to support him more.”

She went on to defend him against his critics, adding, “We’re not going to let them get away with bullying him. And you know, the smear campaigns. It’s not going to work. He has a lot of force behind him and God is protecting him.”

More recently, Minaj made sure to celebrate the former president on his milestone birthday. When Donald Trump turned 80 years old in June, Minaj took to X to share a series of AI-generated images, writing, “Happy 80th birthday Mr. President.”

While her political presence has been loud, Minaj has maintained a relatively quiet profile on the music front so far in 2026. Still, her legacy remains untouchable; throughout her heavily decorated career, the rapper has amassed a staggering 149 entries on the Billboard Hot 100 and secured three No. 1 albums on the Billboard 200.
